I will have a sub May 9th, 10th and 11th. I have 2 days of District Reading Training and 1 day of District Technology Training. Please keep this in mind regarding teacher appreciation week and don't send gifts those days. A note from you or your child means the most to me! I would much rather spend the day with the kids than go to meetings!
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week - May 7-11th
(this info was in a Bay Breeze Newsletter but it was hard to read).
Motivational Monday: handwritten notes of thanks and/or plant/flowers for helping you grow
Tasty Tuesday: bring your teacher snacks or drinks
Wonderfully You Wednesday:
3rd grade brings for Office Staff & Resource Officer
Thoughtful Thursday: relaxing and pampering items
Fantastically Fun Friday: gift cards, special items, treats etc...
(These are just a suggestion, look at the teacher's All About Me page - contact Mary Bess Wilson for info).
DFA Portfolio 4th Quarter:
The last quarter of the year there are 7 DFA's (4 normal and 3 grammar based). This is to create a portfolio of student work, that could be used to help a student with summer school should that be necessary. We will give all 7 DFA's but only keep the top 4 grades. We will drop the 3 lowest grades (based on each child's performance). We will not be able to do this until all 7 are complete, so you will see them all in Focus.

FSA Math - April 26: 4 days
Parent input needed!
Please help Bay improve by completing the parent survey. Students, staff and parents each complete a different survey, every year. The school uses this information to track our performance and work on ways to improve. It is very valuable. Please take a few minutes to help!
UPDATE: Transportation Notes:
Please dojo message me or email me directly with any last minute transportation change. Unfortunately messages sent to the office do not always make it to me in time due to the high volume of activity in the office. I will print out messages to use as notes.

NED is here!
NED is a Character Education program that we will be using at Bay this year. NED stands for:
Never Give Up
Do Your Best
Students will be learning about growth mindset in addition to lessons on not giving up, encouraging others and kindness, and doing their personal best.
My class also watches this YES I CAN (click for link) video and we use that as our class motto! We work on being positive and telling ourselves "yes I can!"
